Get To Know: Kinder

Get To Know Sydney local DJ's & sisters Kinder ahead of their headline set at Ministry of Sound!

Kinder are a force to be reckoned with. The sisters from Maitland have been slowly but surely taking over the Sydney clubbing scene as well as the Australian festival circuit with their diverse track selection and radiant energy on stage.

If you’ve roamed the paddocks of Groovin the Moo, dredged through the mud of Splendour in the Grass, travelled up the coast for This That or even tuned in to triple j Mix-Up’s on a Friday, you’ve probably heard Kinder doing their thing! As well as playing at some of the finest festivals Australia has to offer, they’ve toured as support acts for Dillon Francis, Set Mo, Slumberjack, RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, Mallrat and Marshmello just to name a few!

As a fan-favourite resident of Ministry of Sound, and having supported some of the biggest names we’ve pulled to the club including Claptone, Tigerlily, Enschway & Luude, it’s their time to shine! Kinder will be headlining Ministry of Sound on Saturday, February 17.

Ahead of the debut headline spot, we sat down with local legends and twin sisters Briony & Savannah Osei and chatted all things Kinder.

As a mainstay of the Ministry of Sound main stage, how excited are you for your first headline set?

Nervous! Haha. But really excited to move up from the support slot. We have some pretty big tunes to play, and it's always a fun crowd at Ministry!

What are the go-to tunes that you’re feeling at the moment?

We never get sick of Malaa's 'Notorious' and we are currently vibing 'Heater' by JØRD.

You’ve supported a tonne of acts at Ministry of Sound. Do you have any standouts?

Without a doubt was supporting Peking Duk! They are a ball of joy and energy on stage.

With your debut release on the horizon, how has entering the exciting world of producing treated you?

From a young age, we have always played around at home writing songs on the piano as well as singing. So it's something we have done for a while and we love doing it. It's been a fun and rewarding challenge for us taking these songs out of our home and into the studio. We love the creative process most of all and we look forward to making lots of music this year.

What’s in store for 2018?

Well definitely releasing a lot more music. We also will be on a couple of tours and festivals soon to be announced which we are super stoked about. We are wanting to go all the way this year, we want to bring lots of music, more dancing, some Kinder merch and lots of shows in as many places as we can. We are very excited for the year!!

Catch Kinder at Ministry of Sound this coming Saturday, February 17.
